Signum is an acropetal penetrant and local penetrant which can be used to control a variety of fungal pathogens that cause disease on plants in amenity vegetation, interior landscapes, ornamental plant production and forest nurseries. Signum can be used at a rate of up to 1.35 kg/ha in amenity vegetation and interior landscape setting twice per year.
Signum has been proven to deliver long lasting disease protection, particularly when applied preventatively. The combination of two active substances works to improve control and increase the range of diseases that can be targeted.
Signum is effective against a range of diseases including blight, box blight, leaf spot, scab, rust and grey mould (see product label and extension of authorisation for full details).

- Indoors: Interior landscapes
When to use
Signum should be used preventatively when disease risk is high but symptoms are not yet visible
How to use
- Ensure spray tank is clean and half fill with water
- Add the required amount of Signum to the tank whilst agitating and complete filling with water
- A fine - medium spray quality should be used and the foliage covered thoroughly to ensure good control

Active Substances
Boscalid
Chemical group: Pyraclostrobin belongs to the QoI class of fungicides (Quinone outside Inhibitors).
Mode of action: QoI's work by blocking the pathogens ability to produce energy through the transfer of electrons.
Phytomobility: Pyraclostrobin is a local penetrant which means that movement will be translaminar (“across the lamina”, or leaf blade). When these fungicides are applied, most of the active ingredient is initially held on, or within, the waxy cuticle of plant surfaces. Some of the active ingredient “leaks” into the underlying plant cells.
Pyraclostrobin has an affinity for the waxy cuticle and quickly rebinds to the cuticle on the far side of the leaf blade. Thus, the fungicide can be found on both leaf surfaces, even if only one leaf surface was treated. Translaminar movement can take one to several days to be fully effective.
Application timing: Pyraclostrobin is best applied preventatively when disease risk is high but symptoms on the leaf are not yet visible.
Resistance: QoI fungicides have a highly specific mode of action in which only one biochemical site is targeted within the fungal cell. Therefore resistance can occur from just one mutation of that single site.
QoI fungicides must be alternated with products with a different mode of action. Using a QoI fungicide at the earliest stages of disease development as a preventative treatment will also help to reduce the risk of resistance.
