Description

During periods of snow and ice, white rock salt is used to counter the effects of ice, resulting in safer hard surfaces to traverse.

Contrary to the popular brown rock salt which can leave surfaces with a muddy residue, white rock salt leaves a clean surface with minimal residue.

Black Ice on Hard Surface Footpath

White rock salt is a marine salt, meaning it is formed from the evaporation of sea water. This process of extracting and drying the white salt removes the majority of insoluble impurities, yielding close to 99.9% sodium chloride. The considerably lower percentage of impurities in white salt compared to brown rock salt has the result of white rock salt being far more aesthetically pleasing, leaving considerably less mess behind after application.

During periods of snow and ice, white rock salt is used to counter the effects of ice, resulting in safer hard surfaces to traverse. Contrary to the popular brown rock salt which can leave surfaces with a muddy residue, this white version leaves a clean surface with minimal residue.

White rock salt can be applied before or after the onset of snow and ice, with the additional effect of helping to prevent re-freezing once applied.

Amenity Choice stocks a wide range of salt spreaders, perfectly suited for application of this white rock salt.
