Description
WhiptecBio biodegradable hedge and tree guards are made from recycled material and are 100% sustainable. These guards have been developed with advice from many arboriculturists for over the last 10 years and have been trialled in a variety of locations and conditions. They help create a more realistic natural climate, without the extremes of hot and cold temperatures and provide shelter from extremes of weather for the young whips, resulting in stronger initial establishment and a much higher survival rate. Our WhiptecBio guards not only help develop stronger roots, but they provide vital protection from browsing animals.
A natural additive is mixed with the moulded fibre that makes these tree protector fully biodegradable and compostable. Holes are added at the top to increase airflow and prevent mould and other unwanted residues forming, whilst increasing the amount of light from above. Average lifespan of these protectors is 2 - 4 growing seasons, depending on location.
How to set up tree guards
WhiptecBio guards come flat packed and are very easy to install:
- Simply press the sides to pop open.
- Push in the 3 small, pre-cut sections, on one corner, near to the top, where the ventilation/light holes are.
- Slide the plant through and secure to the ground by pushing the Bamboo Cane through the pre-cut sections and secure into the ground at least 250mm/10inches.
There is no need for the use of plastic ties!

Delivery & Returns
Any applicable delivery charges will be calculated at checkout. Certain products qualify for next working day delivery if ordered before 1pm, excluding bank holidays and the festive season. Please be aware that deliveries to remote areas, including the Highlands and Cornwall, may take longer. Additional charges apply for non-mainland locations — please contact the office for further details, or you can learn more about our delivery options here.
A signature is required upon delivery. If no one is available, you can leave a signed note for the driver requesting the parcel be left in a secure location without a signature. However, please be aware that this is done at your own risk and is subject to the driver's discretion.
For large orders, please be aware that if you require a smaller 7.5 tonne lorry, the maximum weight for pallets is 750kg - otherwise the standard pallet size limit of 1000kg applies.
Please note for deliveries that require a pallet, the pallet/packaging itself is the customer's responsibility and will not be uplifted or taken upon delivery.
